Under garments

Under garments, together with underwear, were the base of clothes. They were worn universally, the only difference was the quality of cut and cloth, which depended on the status of the wearer. They were rather comfortable and practical, because they served mainly as a house wear and work wear. Medieval men's under garments consist of a separate hose (or a joined hose in the later period), a doublet and in case of women a simple cote.
